Dream big, break bias to become more, girls charged
..as Bemore Sisters Network holds IWD girl’s summit in Akure
In a landmark event aimed at fostering leadership and empowerment, Bemore Sisters’ Network, an affiliation of Bemore Girls Empowered Foundation hosted its first-ever Girls Secondary School Summit.
The summit, held at the Agricultural Project Development Alagbaka Akure, brought together students from across the city of Akure for a day of inspiration, education, and empowerment.
The summit kicked off with a captivating keynote speech from Mrs. Pamela Elekwachi, a Human Resource expert, who shared her personal journey and also the lives of great women in the society who are breaking the bias to become more, thereby inspiring the young attendees to dream big and pursue their passions fearlessly.
Following the keynote address, students had the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions covering a wide range of topics, from Health(Breast Cancer Awareness ) and STEM education to self-confidence and leadership development. Led by leaders of Bemore Sisters’ Network. these sessions provided practical insights to equip and empower the girls.
One of the highlights of the summit was game times and school presentations, where students rendered different presentations from spoken words to drama and songs to charge and lighten up the atmosphere.
Throughout the day, students had the chance to network with their peers, teachers, speakers, and facilitators forging valuable connections and building a supportive community of like-minded individuals. These interactions fostered a sense of friendship and solidarity, empowering the girls to support one another on their journey towards leadership and success.
As the summit drew to a close, Bemore Sister’s coordinator delivered heartfelt closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their enthusiasm and participation. With newfound inspiration and determination, the students left the summit feeling empowered, emboldened, and ready to make their mark on the world.
